Rangers

Wes Foderingham

Flapped at one cross and allowed the free-kick to beat him. Looked nervy whenever the ball was played back to him, which was a lot. Not a great day, although did make one good save right at the end. 4

James Tavernier

Was caught out at Dundee’s first goal in that way he does because, you know, he’s not really a right-back. Was close with a free-kick, but did not enjoy having to keep tabs on the lively Craig Wighton. 4

Clint Hill

Took a knock to the head within a few seconds of the game starting. Battled on for a bit but didn’t see out the first-half. Lucky him. 5

Rob Kiernan

Back in the side and, again, did not convince. It’s hardly all the fault of Kiernan but he never looks comfortable and Dundee targeted him as a weak point. 5

Lee Hodson

Solid enough at left-back without doing much of note. He’s a decent player and has to start more and on the right. 6

Emerson Hyndman

Game passed him by. The lad can play but needs to be given a platform to get the ball down and make his passes. That’s hard to do when your team keeps losing possession. Looked lost out on the pitch. 4

Andy Halliday

Nobody faults his effort and commitment; however, he is a much better player than he is showing right now. Nothing is coming off and it’s hard not to feel for him. Has to be taken out the firing line for his own good. 4

Martyn Waghorn

Wandered around looking for the ball and at least hinted if he could do something. Had a couple of efforts but he’s another whose confidence has all-but gone. 5

Kenny Miller

Wore the captain’s armband and tried to lead by example. He kept coming deeper and deeper when he was needed in the Dundee box. He needed someone else to step-up. Nobody was forthcoming.

Barrie McKay

The winger is a puzzle. When on the ball he can make things happen, but drifts out of games when he should be demanding the ball. If he is going to be a top player then has to be a lot better. 5

Joe Garner

A booking means he won’t be available for the Celtic game. Did very little in the match until his goal, which was a lovely piece of skill to be fair. But he needs to do more. They all do. 6

Substitutes

Danny Wilson

Was on early for Hill and looked rusty. 4

Harry Forrester

Got on with 12 minutes to go and missed a good chance. 3

Jason Holt

On at the same time as Forrester but hardly got a touch. 3
