KRIS BOYD hopes Kilmarnock can kick on from their improved performance against Rangers on Friday night.

The striker netted his 250th goal in British football as he opened the scoring at Rugby Park before James Tavernier replied for the Light Blues after the break.

Lee Clark’s side were reduced to ten men when Greg Taylor saw red for a late lunge on midfielder Joey Barton but Killie were able to stand firm to ensure they were rewarded with a share of the spoils.

And former Ibrox star Boyd was pleased with a job well done as Killie picked up their fourth Premiership point of the new campaign.

He said: “It is a great point because since the start of the season we have been written off and everybody has said that we were favourites for relegation.

“To come and put a performance on like that, especially the last 20 minutes when we were down to ten men, we kept going and the defenders were excellent all night.

“At the end of the day, I am playing for Kilmarnock, I love the club and it is great to get on the scoresheet at any time.

“Unfortunately, it was against Rangers, but I am delighted to get another goal for Kilmarnock and it has got us a point.

“In this situation that we are in, we have had a lot of criticism, we will take it and hopefully we can push on and build from this.”
