A man was rushed to hospital after an 'assault' on a Glasgow street.

Police say the incident took place at around 9.30pm on Barlia Drive in Castlemilk last night (Thursday, May 9).

999 crews raced to the scene.

Following that, a 34-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.

She was released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, June 14.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 9.30pm on Thursday, May 9, 2024 officers were called to reports of an assault at Barlia Drive, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended, and a 34-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.

"A 36-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"She was released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, June 14, 2024.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
