A raft of pothole-ridden roads and cracked footways in Renfrewshire will undergo a makeover as part of a comprehensive programme of works.

Dozens of carriageways and pavements in Paisley, Renfrew and elsewhere have been earmarked for resurfacing by Renfrewshire Council in 2024/25.

A total of £5 million will be invested in maintenance and improvements in this financial year – a sum that adds to the £6.7m spent in 2023/24.

Councillor Kenny MacLaren, an SNP representative for Paisley Northwest, said: “I’m happy with the roads included in my ward which are needing resurfaced.

“Overall it’s good to see this much-needed investment in roads in Paisley and across Renfrewshire.”

Councillor Will Mylet, an SNP representative for Paisley East and Central, said: “I’ve been asking for Glen App Road to be resurfaced for a few years now so I’m glad that’s finally being done.

“I’ve been chasing them up on potholes there in this last year, so I’m delighted to see it on there for works in this financial year.”
