An iconic 80s film will be shown in Glasgow with a live orchestra.

Multi-Oscar-nominated cult classic, Blade Runner, will be presented live in concert across the UK as part of a tour.

The tour will begin in Glasgow at the SEC Armadillo on September 18, 2024.

Blade Runner Live will then travel to Manchester, London, Birmingham and Brighton before finishing at Bournemouth on September 24.

Guests can enjoy the 2007 final cut of the film on a huge HD screen, while Vangelis' score will be performed live by The Avex Ensemble.

The soundtrack is one of the most recognisable of all time, revered for both its 80s sound and its evocative and futuristic elements.

Described as a 'stylish noir thriller', Blade Runner sees Detective Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) continue as Replicant Hunter following the escape of 4 Replicants from colonies that have returned to earth.

His mission however is complicated when he falls for Rachel (Sean Young); a Replicant based at the Tyrell Corporation.

Lucy Noble, artistic director at AEG Presents said: "AEG Artistic is thrilled to be presenting Blade Runner Live across the UK next September.

"It’s amazing after 42 years the film and soundtrack still stand the test of time.

"This will be a truly amazing and unique way for audiences to revisit this iconic piece of cinema with Vangelis’ iconic score as they’ve never experienced it before."

Tickets go on sale from Friday, March 22 at 10am.
