A new bridge which will connect two Glasgow communities 'floated' along the river as it nears completion.

Work has been ongoing to build the new Govan-Partick bridge which is being built as part of the Glasgow City Region City Deal project.

Worth £29.5 million, the initiative will see both the Scottish and UK governments pledge £500 million of funding for infrastructure.

Once finished in spring 2024, the structure will re-establish a historic connection between the areas of Water Row in Govan and Pointhouse Quay in Partick.

On Tuesday, the bridge was transported along the water as it is being moved into place.

Members of the public gathered by the riverside to see the spectacle as it was brought to its new home.

The six-metre-wide bridge span, which was constructed in Belgium, departed the Netherlands on October 7.

We previously reported that its delivery to Glasgow was delayed due to high winds but it arrived safely on Saturday.
