A newlywed couple returned home from their honeymoon to discover their entire home had been GIFT-WRAPPED in Christmas paper.

Shocked Faye Gilbert, 28, and her husband Karl Gibert, 27, found their walls, furniture and electrical appliances covered in festive wrap.

They had been pranked by Faye's sisters Sam Slade, 28, and Clare Caseley, 31, who used 20 rolls of paper along with their friend Kim Thornell, 35.

The family came up with the idea after Karl posted a video on Facebook of another couple who had returned from their honeymoon to find their home trashed.

Faye said she noticed a massive festive bow on her front door and thought that her family had kindly put up her Christmas tree for her.

She said: "The door was wrapped up in a big bow so I expected to walk in with my tree up or something, but the whole house was wrapped.

"I loved it, it was really funny.

"Because it was December when we returned from the honeymoon, my lovely sisters decided they'd wrap my house up.

"We normally have a bit of a laugh - but not to that extreme.

"All of our family are big Christmas fans.

"Karl wasn't so happy as we'd been on a night flight and he'd driven back from Gatwick so he was very tired, but then he had a sleep and thought it was funny."

The couple, of Yate, Bristol, discovered the prank last Friday after returning from their two-week honeymoon in Mexico.

Her mischievous trio had spent an entire weekend and two weekday evenings covering everything from pictures on the wall to entire kitchen units.

"It took only took 20 minutes to take most of it down," said Faye, who works as a carer.

"We couldn't get into our kitchen cupboards and all of the cushions were done too.

"They're wrapping skills were great, they wrapped up some of my ornaments and I thought they were presents for us but they were just my own ornaments.

"My twin sister is getting married in April, so we are already thinking of ideas for her."
