A Glasgow building could be demolished and replaced by 12 flats.

A planning application was submitted to knock down a derelict office building in Cranhill and build homes in its place.

The site, at 1 Ruchazie Place, has been described as an "eyesore" in documents, which also state it "has lay empty for several years and has on recent times been broken into and set on fire with the building".

Previously, in 2021, a similar bid was submitted to the council but it was refused.

Now, the applicant Sim Building Group has renewed their interest in the project.

Papers reveal the new building would be a four-storey structure containing 12 two-bed flats.

Also planned are a canopy at the ground floor level and 36 solar panels on the roof.

The bid further includes a greenspace, outdoor drying area, bin storage, bike storage and eight car parks (one electric charger and one disabled spot).

Glasgow City Council's planning committee is reviewing the application and a decision is expected by Thursday, May 23.

The last day for comments is Wednesday, May 1.
