A GLASGOW gaming shop has seen the popularity of its Dungeons & Dragons fan night soar after the release of a new Hollywood film.

The movie Honour Among Thieves has helped increase the tabletop fantasy game's popularity among gaming fanatics prompting the Geek Retreat to welcome a new wave of fans.

Its depiction of the game has drawn significant new attention from intrigued fans of the film who have been clamouring to attend the Union Street venue for its Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening sessions.

Glasgow Times:

Quinn Westwood, store manager, said: "We have been inundated with people asking about our Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening sessions at Geek Retreat.

"The game has always been popular, but since the film was released - we've had people making enquiries about the game wanting to experience it for themselves."

Quinn added: "Whilst we're seeing significant interest and booking in advance is always a must - we are a friendly bunch and we'll happily grab a milkshake, sit down and introduce someone to D&D."

The shop recently moved premises and will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this year with lots of big surprises planned over the coming months.
