A MAN has been fined after he bought booze for under-age drinkers - and was caught by police.
Peter Doherty, 48, plead guilty to the offence and was in Glasgow Sheriff Court to be sentenced.
The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that uniformed police officers witnessed three girls, all aged 13, approach Doherty and hand him money.
He went into the store in Crookston on June 18, last year to buy alcohol including three bottles of cider.
When police confronted him, he said: “I have done this a couple of times but I have never been caught, I am sorry.”
Doherty’s defence agent said his client had been going through a difficult time after separating from his partner, he found himself homeless. He added Doherty, of Cardonald Drive, Cardonald, was ashamed of his conduct.
Sheriff Cameron fined him £140.
