A teacher will not appeal after being struck off for having sex with a pupil on his prom night, it has been reported.

Isabelle Graham, 28, was banned by the General Teaching Council for Scotland in August 2016.

The French teacher quit her job at Whitburn Academy in West Lothian following the incident at a Travelodge in Edinburgh in June 2014.

The devout Christian, who is now known as Shona Wilkie, claimed that she had been set-up and that her drink must have been spiked because she had no memory of the night.

However, the Scottish Daily Mail has reported that Ms Graham has not filed any papers to lodge an appeal against the decision to bar her from the teaching profession.

A source told the Scottish Daily Mail: "Her name is now removed from the teaching register, that's the end of it. She had the option to seek a judicial review at the Court of Session.

"But despite her protestations of innocence, no papers have been lodged within the timescale allowed to raise an appeal."

A probe into Ms Graham's behaviour was launched after a picture appeared on social media of a youngster standing in the door way of a hotel room holding what appeared to be a champagne bottle while a blond woman slept in the bed.

The image was captioned "Poor show from Miss Graham" by a student.

Ms Graham was engaged at the time of the incident and has since married her husband Andrew, who is training to be a clergyman. The couple, who have moved to Hampshire, welcomed their first child in August 2016.

In August it was revealed that she has been doing work for the Soldiers' and Airmen's Scripture Readers Association (SASRA), a charity based in Aldershot, which spreads the teachings of Jesus to soldiers.
